It's my favorite week of the year! Student Services is ready for an exciting and busy week. College Application Week is when many of our in-state institutions waive their application fee IF THE STUDENT APPLIES THROUGH CFNC.ORG. Just as important though, this week is where we promote and discuss post-secondary options with our whole student body.

SENIORS Please sign up for daily SURGES for College Application Help. Come decorate an "I Applied" pennant for us to hang and celebrate. Don't worry moms I will take lots of pictures. Students interested in a 2 year program or a 2 year transfer program plan on seeing Mr. Kelvin Hunt from CCCC on Tuesday. He will be on campus all day today help you with your application and to discuss with you potential transfer options.

SENIOR PARENTS If your student is applying to any in-state public institution, they must complete NC Residency to verify that they are eligible to pay in-state tuition. This is something they need your help with. Here is the link to do so: https://www.ncresidency.org/

This is a great time for you to have discussions with your student about your post-secondary journey. Did you use a typewriter like I did to do your applications? My kids think that is hysterical. Why did you choose that journey? Did you change your mind midway through and do something else? What do you wish you did differently? These are great dinner conversations to have.
