I have waited for this week for 2 and a half years when I knew that I was going to be the school counselor at Seaforth. It is College Application Week!!!!! We have already had over 60 students who have submitted applications.

My goal is to meet with every single senior this week to talk about what their plan is for next year and beyond. Many of our in-state institutions will be waiving their application fees this week, but even if you are not applying to one of these schools we still want to meet to talk about post-secondary plans. Please make sure students look at the Class of 2024 Google Classroom to sign up for a slot. Things to do to get ready...do your RDS (see the previous blog post about steps on how to do that), talk about what schools you want to apply to (shoot for 2 reach schools, 2 target schools, and 2 safety schools), make sure you know your social security number and have a personal email address.

Also this week, Jostens will be at our school on Wednesday for a grade-level presentation for caps and gowns during advisory. Students...make sure you are in attendance.

Many families have reached out regarding the FAFSA. While you may be thinking you will not qualify for need-based aid, the FAFSA is still an important document to fill out. Some merit-based scholarships even require it. This year the FAFSA will not be available for the 24/25 school year until December. I will share more information when I have it. In the meantime, you can go ahead and set up an FSA ID.
